International Business - Bicycles and Economy Essay

International Business - Bicycles and Economy - Essay ExampleThe date of reference which was about providing a core crossway to the customer has gone far behind, likewise the era of providing the actual product has merely ended, and customers outright have much willingness to get the augmented product, which means few frills attached services along with the product as well.Keeping the customers preferences, likes and dislike, the launch of a cycle would not be that unusual, but the idea is to prepargon a plan that could lead to success in various countries. The country selection for the launch of our product is a little decision, one cannot simply expect to have our product launched in any country and yet it remains a self-made launch. Bicycles are common modes of transportations use worldwide specially by students and also people who love racing on bicycles, therefore neither a small country can support us open our product, nor a big country having a lot of poverty in it ca n. We all have to think keeping the nature of product and nature of market in the mind.As the worlds economies become more integrated and international business becomes more globalized, the nature of international business management concerns changes as well. New areas of international business research have arisen that could not even have been imagined by observers twenty-five years ago(Ricks, Wright 687, Vol 25 1994).The product now has to be la... ntries in which it could gain some market, according to the visual analyses, which should be very accurate, the three countries in which the product should be launched are, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. The resolve of not launching the product in the countries that are below poverty line is simple, we cannot expect those countries to use our product that are having much lower grade which is using cycles that are just serving as a core product, due to poverty these countries might not have been able to afford our product, and also there is a good competition in such countries with their privately made bicycles which people over there are use to.There are however different sort of issues in launching the product in the above mentioned three countries but yet the reward is likely to be fruitful, as these countries serve as a base to make the product well known through out the world and sooner if launching would be successful in these three countries then the product is going to be launched internationally and we are likely to have more contracts from the other countries as well. The most bad reasons for launching the product in these three countries are that, the people living there are mostly on foot and students use bicycles for traveling short-circuit distances, also racing is another feature of these countries, cycles are used commonly in having races there. The other reasons for launching the product in these countries might be link to the economy and living standards, as I have earlier mentio ned that our product would not be launched in the countries that are below poverty line, so launching them in much stable countries is a very good options. It is difficult to say that the economies of these three countries would be anymore disturbed by our

Justification of Political Authority Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 7500 words

Justification of Political Authority - Essay ExampleHowever, some thinkers do non perceive the place of subjects toward such authority as the decisive factor. Thus, Thomas Hobbes and John Austin argue that policy-making authority in the de facto sense simply amounts to the capacity of an somebody or community to husband public order as well as secure the obedience of most people by issuing commands approve by sanctions. Consequently, the legitimacy of authority as perceived by subjects is not important and any entity that is de facto performs the function of authority is always justified (Hobbes 1668).Another all-important(a) aspect of the authority debate is its distinction from political power. In politics it is a common practice to use the terms power and authority interchangeably though the meaning of these terms is different. The difference lies mainly in the fact that authority involves a claim of justification and legitimate right to exercise power oer the subjects while power implies a mere ability to achieve certain goals and does not necessarily involve a claim of justification and/or legitimacy (Arendt, 1968).Thus, political power relates to the states ability to get citizens to act in a certain manner even despite their reluctance. Furthermore, political power does not require a positive attitude from the subjects and does not depend on its actual success at securing public order. Threats and offers are the key elements of political power Evidently, for the state to cast de facto authority or legitimate authority requires that the state have the power to compel those subjects who do not wish to go along. This is necessary for the states ability to maintain public order and to assure those who do see it as an authority that it will be able to do what it is supposed to do (Zalta, 2004). Therefore, the term authority in the meaning of political authority is more applicable for the purposes of this paper. There are a number of different discourse s on the nature, legitimacy and justification of political authority. Normally, terce fundamental types of likings about legitimacy of political authority political authority as justified coercion, political authority as the capacity to impose duties, and political authority as the right to rule (Zalta, 2004). The first conception relies on the moral aspect in justifying a political authority which coerces the subjects. The essence of this conception is that a political authority might have the justifiable moral right to coerce its subjects. For example, a group of people may be morally justified in engaging in just a few actions of coercing others. Or a group may be morally justified in engaging in coercion more generally as in the case of a morally justified military occupation. This notion of authority does not necessarily involve duties on the part of the coerced people on the contrary, avoiding or escaping coercion may be justified. One example of such blot could the situati on of a military occupation of a state justified under the pretext of using such occupation as a tool to continue a third power from engaging in morally unjustified aggression. Although this conception relies on moral justification of coercion used by political authority, the authority in this case is not able to either issue commands or make laws it is justified on

3-2 - Assignment ExampleIf we talk about religious practices, then religious rites may not be a overtop by the Almighty but only a spiritual satisfaction for those performing these. However, in worldly terms, performing rituals may be a federal agency of reinforcing societal connections and showing reverence or attachment to the other members of the community. People may be performing rituals so as to get themselves socially matched with their contemporaries. In a Muslim society like ours, the religious rituals that are followed by Muslims are the five basic pillars of Islam (Zahid, 2009) namely confession of faith (shahadat), five times prayers a day, fasting in the month of Ramazan, Alms tax (Zakat), and pilgrimage (Hajj). Along with these, some people have created many rituals that have nothing to do with religion. For example, cooking food in the name of Allah and distributing it (commonly known as khatam shareef) with the use of reward thwab, is a common ritual. It has no lo gical significance but is cosmos practiced widely. As far as social rituals are concerned, along with some which might be good, there are many which are in truth harmful in many cases. Determinism, free will and moral responsibility Essay

Determinism, spare allow for and moral responsibility - Essay ExampleThere are many views and arguments reflecting different philosophers positions on determinism, free will and moral responsibility, and it is not easy to find correct solution of such problems. Maybe this solution will never be found, as in case of many other philosophic problems. The purpose of this paper is not to find it, but to analyse the views of such philosophers as Blatchford, Schlick, Hospers, Campbell and Taylor on determinism, free will and moral responsibility. The views of these philosophers will be given in connection with my own ideas and views on these philosophic problems. In this paper I will postulate that libertarian approach (Campbell and Taylor) reflects reality in more objective view than that of hard determinists (Blatchford, Schlick and Hospers).2. Blatchford asserts that free will is dated by our nature. Heredity and environment determine our will he says that the free will is really con trolled by heredity and environment (Blatchford, p. 104). He also writes that The free will party seem to think of the will as something independent of the man, as something outside of him. They seem to think that the will decides without the control of the mans reason (Blatchford, p. 34-35). Of course, heredity and environment play great role in our actions, but I think that free will can depend on individualal moral responsibility. Blatchford asserts that our actions can be predictable. Our nature and heredity determine our acts this statement fits for famous persons too (Napoleon, Lincoln). In addition to that he claims that his work The Delusion of Free Will disposes of the claim that man is responsible be throw his will is free (Blatchford, p. 107).So, we can say that Blatchford is a representative of hard determinism. But there is a question. What about twins who live together and therefore have the same heredity and environment Are their free will and moral responsibility expressions equal No. I suppose that their decisions and actions depend on their free will which is not originated from heredity and environment. Their free will is determined by their personal development and the features of personality which can be developed in the process of education and self-development. 3. Moritz Schlick is a representative of logical positivism doctrine. His definition of free will, determinism and moral responsibility derives from the definition of punishment. He supposes that Punishment is an educative measure, and as such is a means to the formation of motives, which are in part to prevent the wrongdoer from repeating the act (reformation) and in part to prevent others from committing a similar act (intimidation). Analogously, in the case of reward we are concerned with an incentive. (Schlick, p. 152). So, Schlicks view of free will and responsibility is connected with punishment. He supposes that a person in responsible if the punishment for his action is able to change his behavior in the future. So, his determinism differs a little from that of Blatchford. In his point of view,

Childhood Sexual Abuse Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Childhood Sexual Abuse - Essay ExampleThe paper will essay to answer the question whether our client Marya, was sexually victimized as a electric razor or adolescent in relation back to her behavior in adulthood. To buzz off out whether this thesis is true or false we bring in to analyze the book titled Madness, which describes Maryas experience, and support our finding with knowledge from journal articles, as well as other literature containing information related to child sexual abuse. From the analysis of the book, it is clearly seen that Maryas behavior is different from that of other children since her childhood. She had nightmares almost a goat man coming to attack her at night and, in most cases, she asked her mother questions that expressed her fear (Hornbacher, 2008). This is believed to have been caused by a distemper she was born with. However, her condition in childhood is again very different from the conditions she is in as an adult. As an adult, she suffers both sex and drug dependance she alship canal have thoughts of committing suicide. This is indicated by how she cuts herself and the way she is being frequently involved into having sex with boys due to neediness of self-control (Hornbacher, 2008). Most of these effects are believed to have come out of post-traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is a result of sexual events that exposes a victim to great threats of injury or even death (Shiromani, LeDoux & Keane, 2009). As a result, she powerfulness be traumatized and thereafter might suffer from post-traumatic disorder. This kind of disorder can affect a person in different ways even in his/her adulthood. This trauma can affect a child in many ways, nonpareil of them being making the child unable to act with other children regardless of gender and social status. This is an immediate effect where the difficulty in interaction is based on low self-esteem and self-confidence. Through this, a childs social life gets affected negative ly which can go to adulthood. some other immediate effect that this trauma might have on a child is affecting his academic life. This trauma can make a child unable to concentrate in her academics and thus affecting her breeding negatively. The trauma can also affect the health and growth of the child. Research has shown that most children who have been sexually abused usually have nightmares that cause them lack of sleep and in most cases, lack of appetite (Warner, 2009). Various things trigger this kind of a disorder especially when it comes from childhood sexual abuse. One of the triggers of this disorder is loss of trust in the person that victimized the victim. The victim may also lack trust in other people of the same gender. Another trigger of this disorder is low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence that results from childhood sexual abuse. This disorder can also be triggered by self-denial that comes when one is continuously sexually abused. It is important to note tha t the magnitude of the disorder depend on its trigger, which can be one or several of the mentioned in relation to the personality of the victim. Post-traumatic stress disorder developed from childhood sexual abuse, does not only affect children in their childhood, the effects are carried up to adulthood. The adult survivors of child sexual abuse exhibit behaviors that are not common in other individuals. This kind of people in most cases fails to be interactive and might fail to trust people of the opposite gender. Another

Strategic management is somewhat homogeneous to strategic planning yet it is more present focused rather than only future oriented. However, strategic management is not only based upon devising policies and objectives, but involves the implementation of these policies and objectives according to the needs of the external environment (Goldstein, 1993). Education is a highly competitive business arena in current times and in order to succeed and survive in this sector, strategic management and planning is just as essential as any other market (Whittington, 2007). The educational sector also has to focus upon competitors strategies, efficiency of resources, maintaining cost, and providing a high quality service. One of the most important move of strategic management for schools is maintaining personnel and qualified teaching staff as well as maintaining an appropriate curriculum according to the exemplifications expected by their consumers and the standard maintained by their competitors (Rosenhead, 1998). Moreover, there are several other decisions to take such as appropriate and easily accessible location, safety standards, keeping costs to a minimum while providing a fully equipped infrastructure, proper curriculum, and fair/proper examination standards. While improving a defective crossing and maintaining quality standards may be difficult in ta ngible products, however they are even more difficult to maintain in intangible operate such as education. Customer satisfaction is difficult to measure and change of policies or strategies relative to competition is not as quick as in other regular businesses (Kalpic, 2002). There are various approaches or theories to strategic management which include the structured approach in which a manager who is unremarkably operating a large global organization takes into account the opinions and needs of its stakeholders. The second approach is the entrepreneurial approach which involves the business setting its own standards and objectives and pastime them throughout their operations instead of focusing upon the cycloramas of their stakeholders (Plesk, 1997). The structured approach is usually followed by large organizations which exist all over the world and are world(prenominal) entities. The entrepreneurial approach is followed by smaller organizations which exist in limited places and have access to limited or restricted means. Hence, they are not able to easily follow the needs of their stakeholders and constantly innovate to cater to their requirements. These firms simply set their own objectives by analyzing the competition and developing a fair view of what the consumers need or prefer. They then focus on strategy formation and implementation rather than constant survey and analysis of market needs (Raduan, 2009).

Issues in the 2008 Presidential Elections Essay Example for Free

Issues in the 2008 Presidential Elections EssayThe forthcoming US presidential election has elicited excitement from the public due to its fantastic characteristics. For the original time in the history of the United States there is a high probability that the next president to take the office will be either the most advanced in age or be from a minority grouping. The core of the election however is not on the glib characteristic of the two single(a)s but by on the far reaching policies that affect the Americans. The purpose of this paper is to look at the nature of the policies that each scene vows to uphold. It will also offer a persuasive opinion on who between the two candidates has the better policies. A look at the US contrary policy indicates that it revolves around a number of issues key to them creation terrorism and proliferation of nuclear weapons. For John Mc Cains, the Republican Presidential candidate, foreign policy adversely focuses on these two issues. McC ain links the ongoing Iraq state of war to the war on terror. To him, a win in the war will be a big step in the eradication of terrorists especially the Islamic extremists in the Middle East. His policy points out to the need to provide spare forces in Iraq and also in Afghanistan.Afghanistan requires a surge of NATO forces to get rid of the insurgents that are currently carrying out bomb attacks against civilians and the coalition forces present. McCains foreign policy is mostly centralized in the Middle East. He advocates for the closer ties between the US and Pakistanis which is a strategic partner in the war against terror. He notes that America must continue to buy the farm with President Perez Musharraf to dismantle the cells and the camps that the Taliban and Al Qaeda maintain in his country (Council of Foreign Relations, 2007)On nuclear weapons McCain first target is Iran which he accuses to be a chief supporter of terrorism and hence an arch enemy of the US. He propose s the imposition of sanctions to compel Iran to forego its nuclear mission. He also advocates for the solving of the spherical issues through partnerships with other nations in the world through what he refers to as the world wide League of Democracies. (Council of Foreign Relations, 2007) In Foreign policy, the Democratic fellowship presidential candidate, Barrack Obama advocates for defensive attacks as opposed to pre emptive attacks. In the same breath his policy voices its opposition to the war in Iraq. He terms it as having been pre emptive. Obamas proposal is that it is the high time that the United States began a well laid down policy that addresses pulling out the forces in Iraq. He sees no link between the war in Iraq and terrorism instead believing that Afghanistan should be the centre of attention. He argues that his core strategy will be get out of Iraq and on to the right battle field in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Such strategy will be backed by bilateral interaction s with other partners and not through unilateral actions (George, 2008).In contrast to McCain, Obama does not believe that sanctions in Iran should be the first steps but rather he advocates for the initiation of straight off diplomatic talks to address the underlying issues. (Nicholas, 2008) On health care, McCains core interest is on the cost and the expensive nature of health damages cover. He notes that it is becoming increasingly costly for both employers and individuals to buy health covers.Hence, the key concern would be making it tattyer. Universal care to him is not the firmness of purpose but the solution lies in addressing the factors that push the cost of healthcare. Americans, according to McCain, should be allowed to buy their insurance policy from any place in the nation where they deem it cheap rather than restricting them to their own states. In this hence, employers will not be compelled to provide insurance cover to their employees making his scheme to be mor e individual oriented (Catherine, 2008).Obamas plan for health care differs from McCain. Whereas McCain is advocating for lesser regimen role health care, Obama is for increased government participation. Obama refers to his plan as advocating for managed competition where the government sponsors health care provision and also gives room to the provision by private insurers but notes on the importance of their regulation to ensure they do not deny access to some members. Contrary to McCains plan, Obama does not propose individual access or intra-state buying of health insurance.Obama also states that it will not be mandatory upon adults to have an insurance cover but insists that children will have to be covered (Catherine, 2008). The issue of immigration has also been given jut in the election and it is posing tricky challenges with each candidate hoping to garner the support of over 8 million Latinos and at the same time being cautious not to vex the conservative block in their s pecific parties. McCain recognizes the urgency in the need to address the issue of immigration. His approach to the problem is to first seal the boarders to prevent illegal immigration then proceed from there. His policy lacks in clarity and concision especially in the knowledge that he introduced a bill in the house to address comprehensively the issue of immigration. McCain appreciates the fact that immigration is the force behind the wave of crimes that face the United States and believes that the solution lies in deporting criminals and only allowing guest workers from Latin America. He vows to introduce an electronic system that will verify the identification of workers and be able to detect aliens. This will be backed by the need to prosecute those employers that employ illegal immigration (McCain- Palin, 2008).Obama also recognizes the seriousness of the issue and how it continues to draw heated debates in the public forum. He is in support of the McCain-Edward bill that sough t to address the issue and advocates for comprehensive immigration reforms. He promises to address the issue during his first year in office. two McCains and Obamas immigration policies resemble each other although Obama emphasizes on the need also to fast track the process of legalization for those that are just to be registered in the United States, while at the same facilitating family immigrations (Farnam, 2008)..The verdict on the race to the white house indicates that it is a hotly contested election. two candidates are running neck to neck though some polls favor Obama as having an edge over McCain. A look at the issues presented in this paper and on others in the public court indicates that both candidates have set out concrete plans to drive the nation for the next four years. However, a simple analysis of the core issues that require immediate attention reveals Obamas policies to be better than McCains.Obama had vehemently voiced his opposition to the war long onward h is candidacy to 2008 presidential elections had become obvious. McCain on the other hand had voted for the Iraq war and has continued to support an upsurge of the military forces in Iraq. It is plausible to say that the war in Iraq has contributed a lot to the woes facing the United States today. The government has spent billions in a war that meant nothing to Americans in the face of the spiraling scotch recession. McCain is vowing to continue with the war, risking more of American soldiers lives and spending additional billions.Obama has advocated for a withdrawal vowing instead to concentrate efforts in Afghanistan which is believed to be the cradle of terrorism. This is a sound foreign policy strategy and majority of Americans are siding with him. Most Americans draw parallel between the wars in Iraq and woes facing the economy. With no additional expenditure on the war and with a better plan to revive the economy, Obama indicates he is in touch with the immediate problems faci ng the United States. This is further clear in his health plan. While it is clear that both candidates are seeking for the extended health coverage for Americans, Obamas idea of regulating health insurance companies and emphasis on the increased role of the government emphasizes the importance of the government to directly safeguard the health interests of its citizens. It is indeed clear that with the proposal for a multilateral approach to global problems, the sound health policy and the recognition of immigrants labor importance, Obama is the natural choice of the forthcoming presidential elections.

World War One To An Armistice In 1918 History Essay

introduction War One To An Armistice In 1918 History EssayThe also-ran of the bound offensive in 1918 indicated that Germanys military defeat was imminent. The collapse of Bulgaria and the desperate situation on the Western Front, which was only made worse by the intervention of the American troops, made the Germans chair further steps. The German military leaders feared an absolute collapse of the front and that the enemies could make their way farther and could thus claim and take over German territory. In August 1918 the Allies fought the Germans back from their fronts and Ludendorff, a German general, had to inform the Kaiser We have nearly reached the limit of our powers of resistance. The war must be ended. In September 1918 the German govern handst began negotiations on an armistice with the American President Woodrow Wilson whose 14-points they expected to bring about a peace treaty without withal much loss.At the end of September 1918 Bulgaria made peace and one month l ater Turkey was defeated. Austria was defeated by the Italians at Vittorio Veneto and signed an armistice with the Allies. Germany was now struggle the Allies alone. They had no other choice than to sign an armistice with the Entente in Compigne, France on November 11. This treaty marked the end of World War One. exhaustion at the frontBut where did the exhaustion at the front and the necessity of an armistice come from? The first and major reason is that the conditions the soldiers at the fronts had to live with were disastrous. They led to exhaustion and war fatigue duty. When the war began many young men rushed to join the armies to proudly fight for their fatherlands. The British government asked for 100,000 volunteers and after just one month they already had 750,000. However, the massess enthusiasm did not last. Everyone had believed the war would be over by Christmas 1914 nobody had expected they would continue fighting for four more years.War-weariness set in. People, both at the so called home front and soldiers fighting at the actual front, were tired of war and disappointed that in spite of the large loss all the armies had suffered, and the fact that not any progress had been made, there was still no end in sight.Soldiers young men of 20 years only had seen their comrades wounded and die one after the other. Either killed by the enemies bullets or bombs or slowly dying of influenza or other disease, caused by the miserable conditions in the trenches. These brave men were fighting in a futile battle, between the dead bodies of their friends, suffering from extreme temperatures and hunger. As a result of the Allied blockade beginning in 1914 German soldiers were exceedingly poorly fed. The allied navies prevented ships sailing directly to Germany providing it with anything that could be used for qualification war (including food) in order to starve the Germans until they give up and surrender. The Allies also had an overwhelming superiority in ar tillery, tanks and mechanised transport and their equipment was greatly superior. The Germans had to curse on their superior skill, but they didnt have a top-d feature command structure like the British or the French. It is said that the Germans were tactically unsurpassed, but operationally deficient and strategically inept. So it was not military prowess that led to the Armistice.A part of the German military leaders didnt want to admit their failure in the battlefield. They claimed that the German army had actually been undefeated and their failure was only due to un-American civilians and treacherous politicians at the home front stabbing their own forces in the back. This untrue theory was called stab-in-the-back-theory (German Dolchstolegende).Exhaustion at the home frontBut it was not that people at the home front were being unpatriotic that led to the German defeat. Of course many people had lost their belief in their fatherland, but in fact it was the same exhaustion and war weariness as in the battlefield that forced the German leaders to start negotiating about an armistice.Generally the word home front indicates the inclusion of the civil universe into warfare, even if the actual front is outside of the populations lebensraum. And indeed, they were involved and suffering from the effects of the war. The biggest problem at the home front was the acute food shortage plunder hunger. The civilian population of Germany was suffering. Although the German U-Boat campaign had led to food shortages in Britain the Allied naval blockade that prevented supplies from getting into German ports hit Germany harder. tear down worse was that the shortage of food during the war had led to an inflation, a rise in the general level of prices of goods. So those little supplies of food that were available was often not affordable for the common family. Even fuel was short supply and limited.Furthermore the influenza epidemic of 1918 and 1919 killed between 20 and 4 0 million people in Europe. The so called Spanish Flu also hit German cities and claimed many lives amongst the people, who already suffered from and were weakened by the lack of food.In November 1918 the population was not willing to accept this situation anymore. Strikes and demonstrations paralysed Berlin. Workers went on strike, soldiers refused orders, and the German navy mutinied. The strike and protest spread all over the country. Within a week, there was no more German city that was not involved into the demonstrations, protests and strike developed into a revolution. On 9 November 1918 Germany was declared a democratic land, which was followed by the orchis abdication of Kaiser Wilhelm II.On 11 November the Armistice of Compigne was signed by Center Party deputy Matthias Erzberger. World War I was officially over.ConclusionExhaustion on the front and on the home front, not military prowess, brought World War I to an Armistice in 1918. The major reasons for the exhaustion were the large losses that the countries had suffered without making any progress. Bad conditions in the battlefield such as hunger and disease caused war weariness. Hunger and very bad living conditions caused exhaustion and war weariness on the home front. The German people was not willing to take this anymore and started a revolution in November. Germany became a republic and finally signed the Armistice of Compigne on November 11.
